    Description

This is a vintage full unopened jar of Maxwell House coffee from 1971.  There is an unusual lid on the jar.  The
    top of the
metal lid is yellow, announcing a special offer of a coffee tree.  The printing on the lid has the stylized font used
    during the Flower Power era
in the late 60's and early 70's on many posters and T-shirts at that time.
    T
his unopened jar is 50 years old, from back when the war in Vietnam was the top story on the news every day.  Amazing to have survived a half century in this condition.
Note there is no bar code on this jar.  Bar codes did not begin to be used in grocery stores until 1974.
The jar is glass with a metal lid.  There is a nick out of the back label, but the front label and the scarce yellow metal lid are in terrific condition.
The label has the old logo of General Foods including the word "Kitchens".  General Foods dropped the word Kitchens from their logo later in the 1970's.
