Suspension repairs can vary depending on what needs to be replaced. Shock absorber replacement can start at $150 and go all the way up to $600+. Some luxury and performance vehicles have electronically controlled shock absorbers, which can cost upwards of $1000 a side to replace.
How long does it take to replace suspension?
Suspension. As we discussed in the original piece, suspension repair can vary drastically in time as much as it can in cost, because of how complex a system it is. Replacing a single set of shocks, for example takes between 2-3 hours, as does either side’s control arms.
How can you damage your suspension?
Pothole strikes can bend, snap, break, sever or deform all manners of suspension componentry. They can damage the rubber isolators or ‘bushings’ that cushion the metal-on-metal contact between the many complex arms and levers and joints and hubs and springs that comprise your vehicle’s front-end.
